I received the Prestige Musician guitar and I am as impressed with the build quality and playability as anybody could be! The Musician is really outstanding. The Duncan pickups let me get my tone, whether it’s warm and mellow or burn the place to the ground jamming. The binding around the body top, bottom, f-holes, neck AND headstock looks totally sweet and gives it the look of an aged, vintage collectible.
I am having a hard time putting it down–in fact , it hasn’t been back in the case since I got it ! My Blues DeVille goes on “stand by” and I walk away for a little while only to come back and play some more. I build solid body electrics and I’ve built a few acoustics so I have a pretty good eye for detail and I think Prestige has really got some talented people working on the guitars.
The finishwork is perfect and the set up was absolutely amazing ! Hard to believe it traveled all the way from BC to Florida and the intonation was on the money. Even the case is badass ! I’d been reading some reviews about Prestige and I’ve seen a lot of impressed guitar players. Now you have another fan. I can officially recommend Prestige to anyone now that I have been won over first hand! I totally dig the large body style of the Musician and the hardwood block gives it a sweet, long sustain even when it’s not plugged into an amp.
You guys have not cut any corners, that’s for sure ! The arched maple top and back looks amazing under that trans-red finish . Pearl, abalone, binding, purfling, Bigsby trem, Duncan p/u’s , Grovers,Tune-o-matic bridge, D’Addario strings—these are all things I’d use if I was going to build an archtop hollowbody ! Prestige is building guitars the way the big guitar makers did when they made a name for themselves. Pride, quality and workmanship are still alive after all ! It is a great pleasure to own my first Prestige guitar. It will NOT be my last. Great thanks to you Mike and please pass on my compliments to the people who made my Musician guitar. I’ve got to get back to it now—I feel inspired !
