Artist News – Todd Kerns & Brookroyal

Todd Kerns Touring with SLASH!

Big News for Prestige Artists this month… Todd Kerns of the Sin City Sinners has been recruited by SLASH to play bass on his current World Tour. Myles Kennedy, Bobby Schneck, and Brent Fitz round up the rest of the backing band on the road. Kerns has been an aping Guns ‘n Roses fan and ‘80’s rocker forever. He’s most likely on cloud 9 at the moment.

Kerns: “Yeah, it’s pretty rad. Yesterday, we were sitting here at rehearsal going over the tracks and all of a sudden Steven Adler walks in. That was quite surreal (laughs).”

BrookRoyal Playing Rocklahoma!

Prestige Artist Jack Weise, Vocals and Guitar of the St Louis, MS Band Brookroyal, has a lot going on as well! The weather is warming up which means another summer of rock is right around the corner. Brookroyal will be part of the 3 day rock fest in Oklahoma called Rocklahoma on May 28th. This event will feature the country’s top national acts such as ZZ Top, Chevelle, Godsmack, Buckcherry and many many more.

Jack and the boys are then playing Pointfest 26 on June 6th (brought to you by 105.7 The Point.) This all day event takes place in Brookroyal’s hometown, St. Louis, Missouri. They will be sharing the stage with national acts such as Seether, Three Days Grace, and Papa Roach. Like Brookroyal said on Twitter, “We are road ready!”

New Record Deal for Hot Hot Heat!

Prestige Artist Luke Paquin and the rest of the Gang of Hot Hot Heat, have just signed with Los Angeles indie label Dangerbird Records, and will release their album Future Breeds this summer. Hot Hot Heat built their own Vancouver studio to record Future Breeds.

This is Hot Hot Heat’s third label since they signed to Sub Pop in 2001. Their breakthrough debut, Make Up the Breakdown, was Sub Pop’s biggest seller since Nirvana. Hot Hot Heat left the label for Warner Brothers (which owns 49% of Sub Pop) shortly after the success of their debut.
