Guitar Technician |  Full time or part time

We are accepting applications for a full time or part time Guitar Technician working on-site in our North Vancouver showroom. As a Guitar Technician, you will be adjusting, repairing, and/or customizing various types of guitars that we see on a daily basis at our shop. 

Candidates who have a great attitude, a passion for music, and a background of repairing guitars would be an excellent addition to the team.

Hours: Full time or part time

Requirements: 

  • 2 years of experience repairing and modifying both acoustic and electric stringed instruments
  • Knowledge and experience of guitar setup, fretwork, wiring, routing, finish work, touch-up, and structural repair
  • Self-motivated, team oriented individual with a passion to help out when needed and willing to adhere to the quality standards of Prestige Guitars.
  • High attention to detail and a desire to work with your hands is key!

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with power tools and industrial machinery, as well as precision hand tools
  • Ability to handle material and lift up to 25 lbs. throughout the work day
  • Knowledge of various types of amplification, sound setup and amplifiers
  • Customer service skills
  • Knowledge of sales and invoicing is a plus!

Education and/or Experience:  

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Trade School/or Luthiery School a plus.
  • Woodworking experience and an interest in handcrafted products a plus
  • Guitar players – guitar aficionados and general guitar & music appreciation is always preferred!

Junior Level Guitar Manufacturing / Woodshop Technician

We are accepting applications for full-time junior Guitar Manufacturing / Woodshop Technician career opportunities in our North Vancouver production facility.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM.

Required Skills:

  • Specific duties appropriate to the specific job will be reviewed during the interview process
  • Guitar building
  • Department inventory management
  • Demonstrate sense of urgency in completion of orders to meet production goals
  • Quality management for personal work

Desired Skills: 

  • Self-motivated, team oriented individual with a passion to help out when needed and willing to adhere to the quality standard of Prestige Guitars.
  • Knowledge of woodworking techniques, fixture/jig making, and process design.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain monthly department output goals.
  • Close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus
  • High attention to detail, a desire to work with your hands is key!

Education and/or Experience:  

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Trade School/or Luthiery School a plus.
  • Woodworking experience and an interest in handcrafted products a plus

Senior Level Guitar Manufacturing / Woodshop Technician

We are accepting applications for full-time senior level Guitar Manufacturing / Woodshop Technician career opportunities in our North Vancouver production facility.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM.

Required Skills:

  • Specific duties appropriate to the specific job will be reviewed during the interview process
  • Assist in directing/training wood shop personnel, when assigned, as needed.
  • Guitar building
  • Supervisory leadership
  • Assist with process improvement and design, development and implementation of departmental quality and process standards
  • Assist with production control within department
  • Department inventory management
  • Demonstrate sense of urgency in completion of orders to meet production goals
  • Quality management for personal work
  • Training of wood shop personnel, when assigned
  • Machine maintenance/set up

Desired Skills: 

  • Self-motivated, team oriented individual with a passion to help out when needed and willing to adhere to the quality standard of Prestige Guitars.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain monthly department output goals.
  • Close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus
  • High attention to detail, a desire to work with your hands is key!

Education and/or Experience:  

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Trade School/or Luthiery School a plus.
  • Previous experience with woodworking in a guitar manufacturing environment
  • Prototyping/new model development from drawing to final product.
  • Advanced knowledge of woodworking techniques, fixture/jig making, and process design.
  • Previous knowledge and experience with CNC manufacturing techniques and machine operation preferred.
  • Guitar players – guitar aficionados and general guitar & music appreciation is always preferred!
