Guitar Painter/Finisher part time

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Guitar Painter/Finisher to join our custom shop team at our North Vancouver production facility.

This role is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing guitar bodies and necks with precision and artistry. The ideal candidate has professional experience with spray finishes, color matching, and high-gloss and satin finishes, with a strong eye for quality control.

Training / shadowing will be provided for this position by our lead finisher upon hiring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare guitar bodies and necks for finishing (sanding, masking, sealing).
  • Apply stains, bursts, solid colors, and custom finishes using spray equipment.
  • Perform high-gloss and satin clear coat applications.
  • Sand, buff, and polish to achieve flawless finishes.
  • Collaborate with the production team to achieve design specifications.
  • Inspect completed instruments to ensure top-quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe painting environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in guitar, automotive, furniture, or fine wood finishing.
  • Strong understanding of spray equipment, paint types, and finish processes.
  • Attention to detail and an eye for consistency and color accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Passion for guitars, woodworking, or music is an asset.

Compensation
$25.00 – $35.00 /hr

Junior Level Guitar Manufacturing / Woodshop Technician

We are accepting applications for full-time junior Guitar Manufacturing / Woodshop Technician career opportunities in our North Vancouver production facility.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM.

Required Skills:

  • Specific duties appropriate to the specific job will be reviewed during the interview process
  • Guitar building
  • Department inventory management
  • Demonstrate sense of urgency in completion of orders to meet production goals
  • Quality management for personal work

Desired Skills: 

  • Self-motivated, team oriented individual with a passion to help out when needed and willing to adhere to the quality standard of Prestige Guitars.
  • Knowledge of woodworking techniques, fixture/jig making, and process design.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain monthly department output goals.
  • Close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus
  • High attention to detail, a desire to work with your hands is key!

Education and/or Experience:  

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Trade School/or Luthiery School a plus.
  • Woodworking experience and an interest in handcrafted products a plus
  • Guitar players – guitar aficionados and general guitar & music appreciation is always preferred!

Senior Level Guitar Manufacturing / Woodshop Technician

We are accepting applications for full-time senior level Guitar Manufacturing / Woodshop Technician career opportunities in our North Vancouver production facility.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM.

Required Skills:

  • Specific duties appropriate to the specific job will be reviewed during the interview process
  • Assist in directing/training wood shop personnel, when assigned, as needed.
  • Guitar building
  • Supervisory leadership
  • Assist with process improvement and design, development and implementation of departmental quality and process standards
  • Assist with production control within department
  • Department inventory management
  • Demonstrate sense of urgency in completion of orders to meet production goals
  • Quality management for personal work
  • Training of wood shop personnel, when assigned
  • Machine maintenance/set up

Desired Skills: 

  • Self-motivated, team oriented individual with a passion to help out when needed and willing to adhere to the quality standard of Prestige Guitars.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain monthly department output goals.
  • Close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus
  • High attention to detail, a desire to work with your hands is key!

Education and/or Experience:  

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Trade School/or Luthiery School a plus.
  • Previous experience with woodworking in a guitar manufacturing environment
  • Prototyping/new model development from drawing to final product.
  • Advanced knowledge of woodworking techniques, fixture/jig making, and process design.
  • Previous knowledge and experience with CNC manufacturing techniques and machine operation preferred.
  • Guitar players – guitar aficionados and general guitar & music appreciation is always preferred!
